Our partners are entrepreneurs who have founded and led companies, developed products, built staffs, refined systems, grown businesses, raised or managed hundreds of millions of dollars of capital, had successful IPOs, and driven M&A processes from both the buy and sell sides.

  • He was previously Executive Chairman and CEO of Centage, Chairman, co-founder and CEO of QuickPivot, CEO of Correlsense, CEO of Carbonflow, President and COO of Giga Information Group, and CEO of Object Design (a #1 company in the Inc. 500). Mr. Marshall was also a group vice president at Oracle Corporation and was the founder of Oracle’s consulting services business.

    He has served as an independent Director of several technology companies including; Actuate Corp., Streambase Systems, Current Analysis, and Visix Software. He has a B.A. from Northeastern University and an M.A. from Boston College.

    Ken spent many years flying around the world for business. Now his business travel is more focused, though he’s always open to a Maui destination (aiming to hit the 35th trip mark.) Otherwise, he’s attending youth hockey, baseball, basketball, lacrosse games, (no soccer), and trying to find an NFL team to root for other than the Patriots.

Ken Marshall, Managing Partner

  • He has led sales teams in companies ranging in size from $100M to $3B and engineered transformations that enabled companies to penetrate new markets through vertical sales. He has deep experience in M&A and integrating disparate sales models.

    Jerry’s knowledge in operating, scaling, and leading International organizations has provided him with the expertise to manage and lead complex organizations. He was most recently COO of Progress Corporation (NASDAQ: PRGS). Previous roles included EVP Sales at Iron Mountain (NYSE: IRM), and several executive management roles at Infor including President Americas and President Enterprise Systems Group.

    While retiring from full time operating roles 6 years ago, Jerry has enjoyed working with exec teams through his board roles, and on GTM consulting projects for companies who have hit an inflection point. Absent that, he is still chasing a golf swing that can get him to a single digit and is on a quest to make a world class Biscotti.

Jerry Rulli, Partner

  • He has acted as both in-house and outside counsel in environments ranging from AmLaw 50 firms to boutiques. Jon’s business experience includes stints in business development and consulting, as well as serving on the boards of several startups. His technical background ranges from pre-relational databases to generative AI.

    Jon is currently a Principal at Intangible Strategies, where he advises technology companies on strategic partnering, intellectual property, and privacy. He served in various roles at Object Design (acquired by Progress Software), Access Technologies (acquired by CA Technologies), Dynamics Associates (acquired by Interactive Data Corp), and WilmerHale. He holds a BA from Dartmouth College and a JD from Yale Law School.

    Jon’s favorite season is winter, when his local lineup is nearly empty on most days.

Jonathan Bain, Partner

  • He leverages over 25 years of experience in disruptive SaaS technology platforms, operational leadership, business development, sales, go-to-market strategy, and customer success.

    He was most recently Senior Vice President, Digital Marketing and Technology for Vericast Corporation. Prior to this he served as CEO and CRO of QuickPivot Corporation, a provider of Customer Data Platform technology, leading the company through a successful exit. Mike was also co- founder and CEO of SmartSource Corporation leading this company from start-up to a successful exit.

    Having spent a major part of his professional life in Boston, Mike has returned home to Vermont's Mad River Valley, delighting in skiing the Sugarbush trails. When summer arrives, he heads to Cape Cod to pursue striped bass. Apart from his professional pursuits, Mike actively participates in several nonprofit boards and volunteer initiatives.

Mike Curtin, Partner

  • He has been the CEO of two technology companies – Optivio and QuickPivot. Throughout his career he has focused on leading companies from initial funding through exit. He led the transition of SmartSource’s products from a simple email platform to a complete marketing suite resulting in its acquisition by Extraprise. He also led product and engineering at ServiceSoft which led to its $659M acquisition by Broadbase/Kana.

    His more recent focus is helping over 30 companies transition their products and technologies to support broader markets and “future proof” their product offerings. He is senior technical advisor for MK Capital, leading their pre- and post-investment technical due diligence processes. He also serves as vCTO for BrainBox, and Back Bay Life Science Advisors.

    Gene is an avid hiker, a weekend carpenter, and Jeep enthusiast. He enjoys spending time with his wife, their two sons, and his granddaughter. He believes in speaking his truth and is data and fact driven.

Gene Zylkuski, Partner

  • As a CFO and CPA, she has extensive experience in complex capital structures, budgeting, forecasting and management reporting, internal controls and systems, and investor relations. She has a unique ability to manage the detail while engaged with strategy alongside CEOs, boards, financing and business partners.

    She is currently the CFO for EvolveImmune Therapeutics, Inc. She was a Co-Founder of The Refinery, an accelerator fueling the growth of businesses ready to scale. She was a lecturer at both Tuck and Harvard Business Schools, has an AB from Dartmouth College and an MBA from Columbia University.

    If there is a racquet sport to be played, Jen is there. She is a squash national champion, loves to play pickleball and just tried padel. When not working or playing racquet sports, Jen loves to hang out with her family in upstate New York. Go Bills!

Jennifer Gabler, Partner

  • He served as VP Product & Marketing for the world’s largest Health Science information company- Elsevier, and for market leaders Wolters Kluwer, and Clinical Care Options, where he developed and marketed SaaS products for healthcare organizations. For $29M funded start-up MD Consult he led from concept to profitability and through the company’s later acquisition by a strategic. Bill was also Partner in an award-winning marketing-communications agency where he headed its creative teams in meeting the communication needs of varied Fortune 1000 clients.

    Bill’s current focus is on advising early and growth stage SaaS and health science companies to multiply product results. He is zealous about finding new opportunity, sharpening product and market strategy, and installing the rigor needed to amplify product-market fit.

    He is author of the book: The 21 Rules of B2B Marketing and, having trained nearly 1,000 PMs, is working on a new book: The 21 Rules of B2B Product Management.

    Bill is father of three girls, a frequent swinger of hammers, occasional drinker of good whisky, periodic fly fisherman, and inveterate pragmatist.

Bill Haines, Partner

  • He is currently advising companies on how to create a more robust customer journey and how to identify and successfully deploy Artificial Intelligence technologies.

    Duane has provided guidance to major technology companies and held senior roles at Ardoq, Blue Yonder, Deltek, and QAD in the areas of Customer Success and Professional Services. He was also responsible for globalization efforts at both Peoplesoft and Oracle. He has had P&L responsibility up to $400MM and has led worldwide teams exceeding 2000 individuals. Over the last decade Duane was part of three leadership teams which executed successful exits resulting in substantial value to shareholders.

    He holds a BS in Computer and Information Science from Lehigh University and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania as well as several certifications in Artificial Intelligence and Leadership.

    An avid traveler, Duane fills his time moving closer to the 4MM mile flight mark while checking off a global bucket list of adventures with his wife and four children. Summer keeps him closer to his New Jersey home and his motorcycle - “Cause down the shore everything’s alright!”

Duane Kotsen, Partner

  • He is an expert advisor to growing technology companies, capital providers and investors, as well as a recognized advocate and thought leader for the innovation economy in the Southeast U.S. and nationally. Alan was most recently a senior executive with CIBC’s Innovation Banking Group, where he co-managed the U.S. software and technology practice. His prior roles include leadership positions in corporate and investment banking with leading firms such as Bridge Bank, Square 1 Financial, Silicon Valley Bank, First Union (Wells Fargo) Securities, and Scotia Capital.

    Alan currently serves on the Board of Advisors at the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business, where he also guest lectures in finance and entrepreneurship. Alan is also a member of the Technology Advisory Council at Morris Manning & Martin LLP, a leading national law firm focused on the technology sector.

    Despite relocating to the South years ago, Alan remains a diehard fan of his hometown Cubs, Bears and Blackhawks.  He enjoys traveling with his wife and family, cooking and good wine — often the latter two together.  He is currently checking out fly fishing as a new hobby and serves as the unskilled labor for his wife’s substantial gardening activities.

  • His strategic use of venture capital, acquisitions, and innovation has driven businesses toward sustainable growth and profitability, culminating in six successful acquisitions. Chip has held leadership positions at Mode Mobile, Pixability, Label Insight, Linkable Networks, AOL, Third Screen Media, Idiom Technology, Performaworks, and Revenio.

    Known for his visionary leadership, Chip inspires teams and drives organizational excellence from conceptualization to execution. His expertise lies in crafting and implementing strategies that yield tangible results, ensuring his organizations thrive in today's rapidly evolving landscape.

    Beyond his executive roles, Chip extends his impact as an advisor and mentor to several Boston-based businesses. He shares his deep expertise in big data, machine learning, and mobile innovation, guiding aspiring entrepreneurs through challenges and fostering growth and innovation in others.
